Ptosis repair is a very popular procedure that is carried out by creating a hidden incision in the natural skin crease of the upper eyelid. The key step to this surgery is identifying the muscle controlling the lifting of the eyelid, which is then advanced and reattached to the lid. Eyelid Ptosis can vary in severity from person to person but typically patients experience the following symptoms:

  • Eye fatigue, especially when reading
  • Eyebrow aches due to the great effort required to raise the eyelids.
  • Finding it difficult to keep eyelids open
  • Strained eyes

Ptosis Recovery Time

The recovery time after this procedure is quite minimal with most patients being able to return to work soon after surgery. If you have a particularly manual job or involve any heavy lifting then it’s advised that you rest for 1-2 weeks after the procedure.
