When treating the deeper tissues of orbital fat, ligaments, and orbital septum, this surgical approach indicates that no skin incision is performed hence no skin excess can be removed. If there is excess skin the classic lower blepharoplasty is needed.

Bags in the lower or upper eyelids are common characteristics of an ageing face. Some patients have a genetic predisposition to these bags or have excess skin in their eyelids. These can be good candidates for the procedure.
