Forehead Reduction

A forehead reduction surgery is a cosmetic procedure that is commonly performed to alter the height of the forehead or lower the hairline. There is a variety of factors that can lead to a larger forehead, these including hair loss, genetics, injuries, and previous surgeries. By reducing the height of your forehead, we can restore you back to a proportional and elegant look.

About Forehead Reduction

At Signature Clinics, we perform forehead reduction under local anaesthesia. The procedure is very safe as long as performed by highly trained plastic surgeons. After the procedure, the patients are able to go back home immediately.

Forehead reduction is generally used to balance the proportions of one’s overall facial structure. You might be a good candidate for forehead reduction surgery if you have:

  • Large forehead which you wish to shorten
  • Recently had a brow lift procedure
  • Wish to bring your hairline forward/lower
  • Low or heavy eyebrows
  • Want to change the proportions of your face

It is important to remember that these criteria do not automatically make someone suitable for the treatment. In order to have good results, it is critical to have good scalp laxity. Unfortunately, having a family history of pattern balding may exclude you from the procedure.

How Forehead Reduction Surgery Work?

During forehead reduction surgery, an incision is made at the hairline and on the forehead after numbing the forehead. The length between these two incisions is determined prior to the surgery in your consultation. The skin excess is removed, and the two ends are stitched together which leads to the hairline moving forward and the forehead becoming smaller. Forehead reduction scar is mostly hidden at the hairline which makes it less visible upon hair regrowth.

Forehead Reduction FAQ

What type of anaesthesia is given during surgery?2023-02-03T15:12:21+00:00

At Signature Clinic, most of our procedures are carried out under local anaesthesia. This allows our procedures to be safer and speed up the recovery time.

Who is an ideal candidate for forehead reduction surgery?2024-11-05T14:05:50+00:00

Those who wish to enhance their face proportions and have a big forehead or high hairline are the best prospects. In addition to having a steady hairline and strong scalp elasticity, candidates should be in generally good health.

What is the recovery process like?2024-11-05T14:07:47+00:00

Mild soreness, bruising, and swelling are common during recovery, and these side effects normally go away in a week or two. After a week, the majority of patients can resume their regular activities.

Will there be visible scarring?2024-11-05T14:09:04+00:00

Along the hairline, there will be a tiny scar, although it usually goes away with time and is frequently covered by hair. In order to achieve a natural appearance, surgeons employ procedures to reduce scarring.

Will my hairline or hair growth be impacted by a reduced forehead?2024-11-05T14:11:02+00:00

The hairline is lowered during forehead reduction surgery, but the hair density along the hairline is maintained. If there is thinning, hair transplants could be suggested in certain situations.
