Inverted Nipple Surgery

Inverted or “shy” nipples, in which one or both of the nipples pull inside rather than outward, are thought to affect 10–20% of women. A simple procedure that may be performed with local anaesthetic surgery will fix the issue.

About Inverted Nipple Surgery Treatment

Your nipple will be released from the surrounding tissue after your surgeon makes a cut under it. A tiny splint is used to maintain the nipple in a protruding position after a stitch is fastened and placed around it. For roughly one week, the stitch and splint must be worn. A gauze dressing may be applied.

Benefits of Inverted Nipple Surgery
5/5

"Fantastic experience from the team at Signature from start to finish. I had bilateral nipple correction in September 2023 and couldn’t be happier with the results. I was nervous but the team treated me with care, kindness and professionalism. A huge thanks to Dr Alsayed, the theatre team and Aftercare team for making it easy for me!"

"What an incredible transformation! Ive felt so self-conscious about my chest all my life. Even at my skinniest I always seemed to have something there. Turns out it wasn't just fat but my milk glands were slightly large. The surgeon did such an amazing job cutting round my nipple. Removing the glands. Liposuction around outside. With a total invisible scar. Amazing job. Amazing service. Would recommend it to anyone!"

Inverted Nipple Surgery FAQ

The outcomes of surgical procedures are permanent, however, circumstances like pregnancy and weight gain can change the results.
Inverted nipple surgeries commonly occur together with breast enlargement surgeries.
When the milk ducts, which frequently pull the nipples inward during surgery, are separated, we advise waiting until after this time if you haven’t yet finished your family. This can make breastfeeding challenging. It is a good idea to ask your surgeon about breastfeeding during your consultation to understand more.
After surgery, your nipple sensitivity might shift slightly, but once you’re healed, everything should go back to normal, and the nipple will respond to touch and cold as usual.
