Alexandru Uta is an online fitness sensation and former Mr Universe winner. Although he has dedicated years to building his perfect physique, Alexandru felt like something was holding him back.
Most of Alexandru’s adult life has been spent on stage competing in bodybuilding contests. Therefore, as you can imagine, his physique has always played a major part in both his personal and professional life. But no matter how hard he worked in the gym, something didn’t seem right; one side of his chest didn’t match the other. After researching and speaking with other bodybuilders, the 24 year old realised that he had Gynecomastia – an increase in the amount of glandular tissue in either one or both male breasts.
After deliberating and carefully considering his options for over a year, with the thought of it on his mind daily, Alexandru decided that surgery was the best option for him to achieve a flatter, more uniformed chest. He again reached out to his fellow bodybuilders and was recommended to Signature Clinic on the back of other success stories. “Alexandru had a unilateral Gynecomastia glad on the right side. The procedure was estimated to take around 45-60 mins from start to end. It is very common to have one gland larger than the other as there is usually an imbalance. In Alexandrus case, the right was significantly larger than the left. “Gynecomastia is a condition that affects the majority of men. It usually affects both sides of the chest, with asymmetries in gland size very common. However, in a very small percentage of men, Gynecomastia can present in only one side and therefore a unilateral surgical procedure is performed.”
